Miranda Leigh Hein

Executive Director, ArtsEd Washington

Miranda Leigh Hein is the Executive Director of Arts Ed, a statewide organization dedicated to advancing equitable access to arts education for students across Washington State.

A longtime educator, performing artist, and arts advocate, Hein brings extensive experience in public education and arts leadership to her work. Her career has included teaching English language arts and dance, working with educators and schools, and advocating for policies that strengthen arts education.

On Curtains Up!, Hein joins Rohan to discuss the future of arts education in Washington, including the FutureReady initiative, potential changes to high school graduation requirements, the balance between student flexibility and maintaining strong arts programs, and the importance of student voices in education policy.

Their conversation explores what policy decisions can mean at the classroom level and how students can become informed and effective advocates for the arts.
